The average new drinking water well in Africa serves about 1000 people.  Once the well is in place, people in the community stop dying.  More people move into the community because they have water.  The villages grow.  But, in Liberia (and elsewhere), war makes the wells easy targets of terrorism and violence.  An even larger [...]

What We Believe.

The Mission: Worship God, Love People, Restore Creation.

The reason we exist as a church is simply to love people and encourage them in their own journey of faith. We believe that this journey, if honest, will always lead sooner or later to God's real love through Christ.

The Vision: To be a community of Christ followers who restore the world around us through faith and action.

Our ultimate goal is to be a new kind of community of faith, one that follows closely Christ and exhibits to the world how we live and relate to each other the very attributes of God.

The Evergreen Philosophy: Our philosophy is summed up best by the acronym GRACE.

We will be a community that is GOD & GRACE-DRIVEN:Following where God is already working and inviting all, regardless of where they have been or where they are now in life's journey, to journey with us, offering forgiveness to all, loving the unloved, encouraging the forsaken and disillusioned, and teaching and practicing a grace that transforms.

We will be RELEVANT: presenting God and Christ in ways that are understandable to the culture and the times.

We will be ALWAYS LEARNING: recognizing that the journey never ends and that none of us completely knows all there is to know of God. We ALL need to seek him and learn more of him.

We will be CHRIST-CENTERED and COMMUNITY-BASED: learning about Jesus Christ as described in the Bible and doing so in safe environments of community, where we all journey together.

We will be EQUIPPING and EXPRESSING OUR GIFTS: seeking to expose, equip, and release the gifts of those who choose to follow Christ, understanding that God has designed in each of us certain gifts that he desires to use to offer his grace to people throughout the world.

We Believe...

God is a God who speaks, and He reveals Himself, His acts, and His purposes through the Bible. He has left His fingerprints in His creation for us to see. He intervenes in our lives and reveals Himself to us corporately and individually.

The Old and New Testament Scriptures are given to us by God and are consistent with who He is. They speak the truth and point people to Jesus Christ.

The purpose of creation and of humankind is to reveal God's glory "His character, ways, and purposes" and to offer Him willing, loving worship.

As a result of human rebellion against God and His order for the world, the life-giving bond between God and human beings was severed. Death entered the world and all creation became subject to it. Even so, God's love for us and for His creation continues to know no bounds.

Rather than destroy His work and us, His image-bearers, God acted in human history to deliver us from the consequences of our rebellion and to offer us an opportunity so that we, as individuals and as a people, may once again enter the loving relationship with Him that was His first intention for the world.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who, along with the Holy Spirit, has existed through all eternity with God the Father. Jesus entered time and creation as a human being to reveal God and the nature of God's kingdom to us.

As part of God's loving actions, Jesus willingly took the penalty for our rebellion on Himself and died on the cross. His death finally and completely paid for our sin and rebellion, but it showed us that living for the Kingdom of God may cost us our lives.

Jesus is the only way to be restored to a harmonious relationship with our creator Father. Through His life, death, and resurrection, He opened God's kingdom to us so that we may come into His presence as His forgiven and beloved sons and daughters, joining in his mission to restore His creation.
