The Pathways are symbolic of the various ways that we pursue God and He interacts with us. In this world we see just a poor reflection of the perfect God, so we use different approaches or Pathways to journey closer to and with Him.
One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?" "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these." Mark 12:28-31
Your Soul: Spiritual Pathway
Your Strength: Physical Pathway
Your Mind: Intellectual Pathway
Your Neighbor: Relational Pathway
Your Heart: Emotional Pathway
Spiritual, Physical, Intellectual, Relational and Emotional: S.P.I.R.E.
Just as a church spire invites us to look
heavenward, so do the Pathways.
Just as a pathway in a park leads you somewhere, so do our Pathways. The journey is from where you are currently in life’s journey toward becoming the whole, magnificent person created in the image of God that He desires you to become. While each Pathway focuses on a different aspect of life, the goal is to have all of the areas in your life redeemed and made whole, allowing you to more fully experience the joy of following Christ and worshipping God freely.
